Scottish Careers Week 2026 is back from 9 to 13 November. It's a chance for employers to open up the world of work, challenge outdated perceptions and show young people and job changers the range of routes into your industry.

Whether you can host an event, share a career story or offer a few practical tips online, your involvement can help someone see what's possible and take their next step with confidence.

You don't need a big budget or a packed programme to make a difference. Start with one practical action that brings careers to life, such as:

  • hosting a workplace visit, webinar or Q&A to give learners and job changers a real insight into your sector
  • sharing an employee career journey – this should show the skills, choices and stepping stones that helped someone get where they are
  • posting a short video, blog or social update with practical advice on getting started in your industry
  • offering mentoring, mock interviews, work placements or shadowing opportunities to help people build confidence and contacts
  • supporting a local school, college, DYW activity or community careers event with speakers, demonstrations or employer insight
  • showcasing apprenticeships, training routes, progression opportunities and the skills your workplace needs now and in the future

If you're planning an activity, register it now. We can help promote what you're doing and show the breadth of employer support taking place across Scotland.

Bust myths and highlight career development

Use the campaign to answer the questions people often have but may not know how to ask. These include:

  • what does a typical day look like?
  • what skills matter most?
  • are there entry-level routes, apprenticeships or retraining options?
  • what myths about your sector need challenged?

Clear, practical answers can help people picture themselves in your workplace.

Why not get involved at an event?

You can host your own activity, join a partner event or connect with schools and colleges through local employer networks and careers activity.

Explore the latest event listings and search for opportunities to add your voice, insight or experience.

Show your support on social media

Employers and industry bodies can support the campaign online by sharing advice, activity and real examples of careers in action.

Use #ScotCareersWeek26, tag My World of Work where relevant and link to the campaign page so people can access support, resources and events.
