About Scottish Careers Week

Scottish Careers Week 2026 takes place from 9 to 13 November, bringing together educators, employers, career practitioners, partners and communities to inspire people across Scotland to explore their future.

Under the theme Shape the Future, our campaign will show how careers support, learning, work and local partnerships can help people understand their options, build confidence and take that next step.

Throughout the week, partners are invited to use campaign resources, share real stories, promote local activity and support conversations that bring careers to life in classrooms, workplaces and communities.

For educators, it's an opportunity to connect learning with the world of work and help young people explore the many routes open to them. For employers, it's a chance to showcase pathways, skills, opportunities and play an active role in developing Scotland’s future workforce.

By working together, Skills Development Scotland and partners can make careers support more visible, practical and accessible for people of all ages – whether they're at school, leaving education, changing direction, returning to learning or searching for their next step.

You can get involved by:

  • sharing the campaign through your own channels and helping people find support, resources and events
  • promoting local activity that helps young people, job changers and adults explore opportunities and pathways
  • telling real stories that show how careers support, partnership working and workplace insight can help people shape their future

Scottish Careers Week is a shared platform to inspire action, strengthen partnerships and help people make confident choices about their future. Join the conversation using #ScotCareersWeek26.
