This course is aimed at those interested in a career in the beauty and make up industry. It introduces make up artistry skills, and prepares for progression on to NQ 4 BEAUTY & MAKE UP OR SVQ Level 2 Beauty Therapy.

This course will provide an insight into; Working safely and hygienically in a salon environment, how to apply day make up, bridal make up and contemporary make up. The units involved in the course are all part of the NPA in make up skills. Different make up techniques will be learned and you will be given the opportunity to plan, prepare and carry out these looks for assessment.

This course will help you to establish an insight into the beauty and make up industry. It will help improve employment and/or progression prospects. You will learn from guest speakers and additional courses to keep you up to date with current trend.

Learning outcome

Education:

· Progression to SVQ Level 2 Beauty Therapy

· Progression to NQ4 Beauty & Make up

Employment:

· Assistant in a salon, retail assistant within the beauty therapy industry
