We're happy to announce the launch of our brand new My World of Work website on 3 June 2024!

This exciting change will bring a fresh look and improved features to help you manage your career journey.

We’ve made a series of frequently asked questions and listed key dates to help you prepare.

My World of Work account freeze 13 May

From 13 May until 2 June 2024, we need to carry out some essential maintenance. This means you won’t be able to log in to your My World of Work account.

If you need access to anything stored in your account during this time, including CVs and profile information, you have until the 12 May to log in and download it.

What do I do if I already have a My World of Work account?

Make sure your email address is up to date in your account before 13 May 2024. You'll need access to your emails so we can move your account to the new My World of Work. If you need to update your email address, you can do this in the 'Settings' tab, within 'Contact information'.

On 3 June 2024, you’ll receive an email from us. We’ll send this to the email address you use to sign in to your My World of Work account.

The email will ask you to reset your password. Once you do this, your saved CVs will automatically move over to the new My World of Work website. If your profile is complete, you’ll also have access to this on the new website.

What will happen to my saved CVs and profile?

Don’t worry about losing your hard work!

All your CVs will be waiting for you on our new website’s CV Builder as long as you follow the password reset process. You’ll be able to update and edit your CVs too.

Your profile will be saved as a PDF. This can be accessed within ‘account settings’ on the new website.

To make sure your CVs and profile move over to the new site, you must keep an eye out for our email on 3 June 2024. You should then follow the password reset process.

I don’t know the email address associated with my account, what do I do?

Get in touch with our helpline on 0800 917 8000. It's open Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm. We'll help you recover your account details.

If you need anything from your account before 13 May, call us as soon as possible. Once you have the information you need to sign in, you can download what you need.

If you're a British Sign Language user, download the Contact Scotland app. You can use it to sign with an interpreter who'll make the phone call for you.

I’m a primary teacher, should I do anything?

On the new My World of Work, teachers and pupils can access most tools and content without having to register or log in.

Would some of your pupils like to keep their profiles? We’d encourage you to ask them to download their profile before 13 May 2024. This is when we'll start our account freeze, meaning you won’t be able to access your current My World of Work account anymore.

To help you prepare, we sent a service message email to all primary teachers on 18 April. This has instructions on how to download your pupils’ profiles.

I’m a secondary teacher, should I do anything?

On the new My World of Work, teachers and pupils can access tools and content without having to register or log in. The only exceptions to this are our CV Builder and saving strengths reports.

On 3 June 2024, we’ll send emails to all users who have accessed their My World of Work account in the last three years. This email will ask them to reset their password, which means their account will migrate over to our new website.

If your pupils have profiles or CVs they’d like to keep, we recommend they follow these steps:

  1. find their log in details
  2. enter this email and password when they receive an email from us on 3 June 2024
  3. reset their password so their account moves over to the new website
