This course is for anyone wanting to pursue a career in engineering at technician or engineer level. The course offers students the chance to study engineering subjects from various disciplines, and to explore environmental issues including renewable energy.
You will have the chance to work as an electrical engineer at technician level or progress to university. The course is a good springboard to more advanced courses including university degrees.
Learning outcome
Employment: in electrical engineering field.
Former students have progressed onto further study at Heriot-Watt and Strathclyde University.
Education: progression to university and then employment in design, research and development, and managing electrical systems.
Past students have found employment with companies such as Screwfix, West Lothian Council and Plexus.
Entry requirements
We also encourage those with Higher maths and relevant National 5 to apply.
Mature candidates are judged on the combination of their qualifications and experience.
If English is not your first language, ESOL Level 5 is an entry requirement for this course.
