Course details

Course description

This assisted programmes course supports students with additional support needs to develop skills to help them in social settings.

The aim of the course is to build self-confidence and to enable students to engage in social settings, it will address how to engage with others, how to keep yourself safe and to enjoy having time with others. Students will also consider how to communicate remotely with others.

Previously some of the activities that the Social Development group have engaged in are movie nights, games nights, going for a walk (in the better weather), going out for dinner and crazy golf.

The group is for individuals with ASN that are interested in disconnecting from our phones and technology and engaging in good old fashioned social skills like chatting, laughing and enjoying others company.

Why choose this course

The programme is delivered in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere at a pace appropriate to the academic level and physical ability of the students. Students with their lecturer will make decisions about the course content and will work together to agree a plan.
