This course is for those students with additional needs who are ready to become more independent after their time at school or College. The programme has two focal points: personal and social development, and transition into adulthood.

This programme provides students with opportunities to discuss their own experiences, perceptions and understanding of relevant topics and issues.

Students will be equipped with the skills and knowledge to evaluate, plan and manage their learning and make effective transitions. Subjects including, health and wellbeing, life skills, planning my future and making decisions will support students develop key skills over the year.

Students will explore the concept of ‘self’ and awareness of their own personal and social development needs.

A range of opportunities to work with others both in college and with external groups are planned throughout the year. The course will include sessions with other key agencies, including, Skills Development Scotland, employers, external support agencies and college staff from vocational areas.
