This course is open to S3 to S6 pupils who enjoy art and being creative. You don’t need to do art at school to take the course.

The course covers creative subjects including, printmaking techniques, textiles and fabric, 2D mixed media, digital and sketchbook.

It offers the opportunity to expand your art skills and broaden your knowledge, with the possibility of an end of course display of work which your family and friends can attend.

Many pupils have accessed this course to support their personal and social skills development and boost their confidence.

You will recieve individual tuition to develop your skills and ideas and themes. We will also support you to develop your confidence and self-esteem through art. You will create a portfolio of work at your own level.

There are many students who began their art journey by attending this course with a high percentage going on to study at art college. They have stated that this course increase thieir skills and helped them gain confidence.

Learning outcome

You will produce artwork and may take part in an end of course display. You will gain college qualifications for projects within the course.

You may choose to apply for NQ Creative Industries, NC Art and Design or HNC Art; the portfolio of work you create in this course will support this.
