Course description

This course is for anyone interested in working in games or app development, social media, advertising, TV, film and the creative arts. Whatever your interest, you’ll close the gap between the classroom and the workplace, and to find out more about the world of work.

  • Year 1: creative industries: an introduction – Scotland; storytelling for the creative industries; creative industries: understanding a creative brief; media: understanding the creative process; and media project
  • Year 2: work effectively with others in the creative industries; use digital and social media in marketing campaigns; ensure your own actions reduce risks to health and safety; communicating using digital marketing/sales channels; and media project
  • Potential for games programming or software development

    Entry requirements

  • Achieved National 5/level 5 in English or communication, and core skills IT
  • Achieved National 4/level 4 in maths or numeracy
  • Interest in learning about the creative industries
  • Be capable of working at level 6 (Higher)
  • Excellent school attendance record
  • You do not need to have digital media production experience/knowledge.
