Course description

This course is for those wanting to progress from NQ computing into further study or into a career in computing or information technology. It develops skills and knowledge in Software Development, Data Science and Applications development

The course includes:

  • Project management
  • Computer operating systems
  • Programming
  • Web development
  • Application software
  • Working within a project team
  • Computer architecture.
  • There is a final graded unit exam.

    Entry requirements

  • 1 Higher (grade C or above) plus two National 5 subjects, one of which should be math or science/computer science
  • Foundation Apprenticeship in a related subject or
  • Suitable range of SQA units at National 5 and Higher level
  • We consider mature candidates with relevant experience.

    If English is not your first language, ESOL Level 5 is an entry requirement for this course.
