Course description
This is a workbased qualification that covers communication, health and safety, developing your own knowledge in practice and safeguarding of children & young people. This qualification can also contribute towards meeting SSSC registration. Students will complete the 4 mandatory units: • Support Effective Communication • Support The Health & Safety of Yourself & Individuals • Support The Safeguarding of Children • Develop Your Own Knowledge & Practice And choose 2 optional units to suit their job role • Support The Development of Children & Young People • Support Children’s Learning Through Play • Contribute to the Effective of Teams • Work with Children & Young People to Create Play Spaces & Support Freely Chosen Self-Directed Play • Maintain Environments To Meet Children’s Needs • Support the Care of Babies & Children • Support a Child with Additional Support Needs • Support the Acquisition of a New Language through Immersion by Children in an Early Years Setting Progress to Social Services Children & Young People Level 3 or gain employment as a support worker.
