Course description
The Masters in International Social Welfare is distinctive in the ways in which it: develops a conceptual and theoretical understanding of global social issues, with a particular focus on the role of social work and social policy in addressing poverty and inequality and promoting human rights, social justice and social development, provides a knowledge and understanding that will enable you to work in a variety of different social work and social development settings at local, national and international levels. You'll be encouraged to develop a critical understanding of global social issues and relate this knowledge to developments in a context of relevance to you, be that your own country or profession. Case study material from a variety of social work and social policy settings will provide a unique opportunity to explore the complexities, challenges and dilemmas experienced by professionals in the fields of social work and social policy.
