Course description
Business Management and English at Aberdeen adds extra value to your strong business grounding and people skills. You will graduate with a combination of analytical, technical and communication skills and perspective, which will appeal strongly to employers in business and many fields. In Business Management, you will gain a wide perspective and thorough grounding in all areas of business, including accountancy and statistics. Your knowledge will develop in the dynamic, international environment of our Business School of 45 nationalities, in small classes, taught by leaders in the fields of business practice and theory, corporate finance, and organisational change, and supported by dedicated careers advisers.
English at Aberdeen gives you all the advantages of learning in a creative hub, rated second in the UK for the quality of its research. You will study poetry and prose through considering the dynamic relationship between author, reader and literary text and will study every period from the middle ages to contemporary English, Scottish, Irish, European and American writing. You will examine the cultural and critical impact of powerful and controversial modern works and will be encouraged to develop your own creative writing skills. You will add to your business competence with core writing, research, technical and presentation skills to open up a wide variety of careers as diverse as publishing, journalism, or any sector of business from large multinational blue-chips to small and medium-sized enterprises in all sectors.

Entry requirements
Scottish Higher minimum entry requirements: A,A,B,B
Applicants who achieve AABB or better over S4 and S5 are likely to be made an offer of admission. This may be unconditional or it may be conditional, dependent upon academic profile. Good performance in additional Highers / Advanced Highers may be required. Note: we do not double count a Higher and Advanced Higher in the same subject, but we do consider that a B at Adv Higher is equivalent to an A grade at Higher. National 5 English at minimum grade C
Scottish Advanced Higher minimum entry requirements: A,B,B
Second year entry may be possible in most school based subjects. A minimum of ABB overall in Adv Higher is required. Adv Higher at A in the subject selected for Single Honours or AB in the subject selected for Joint Honours.
