Course description
This is a mandatory Unit within the PDA Financial Accounting and PDA Book Keeping, as well as the HNC/HND Accounting course. It may also be part of other HN group awards as an optional Unit, or taken as a stand alone HN Unit. It is primarily intended for those who expect to take up a career or further study in accounting and/or financial administration, but is also very relevant to those with appropriate work experience who wish to formalise their book-keeping skills. Upon course completion you should be able to effectively record and manage financial information with enhanced manual book-keeping skills. Credit pointsYou will gain a good understanding of how to record financial information, using a double entry book-keeping system, up to trial balance. The unit will also enable candidates to complete a VAT return and incorporate control mechanisms into the book-keeping system. The course will teach you to: Record financial transactions in books of original entry Record financial transactions in a double entry book-keeping system and extract a trial balance Complete a VAT Return Incorporate control mechanisms into a book-keeping system and level: 1 HN credit at SCQF level 7: (8 SCQF credit points at SCQF level 7) There are two costs associated with this course: The first presentation for £144.00 includes the cost of SQA registration. Entry requirements
Candidates should be competent in numeracy and communication at SCQF Level 5 or have similar qualifications or experience. This course requires you to manage your workload independently with tutor support which would be available via email and telephone, you would be assigned contact details and guidelines for your tutor once enrolled on course.
