This Unit forms part of the National 5 Mathematics course but can also be studied as a stand alone Unit. The National 5 qualification enables learners to acquire and apply operational skills necessary for developing mathematical ideas through symbolic representation and diagrams. They will select and apply mathematical techniques and will develop their understanding of the interdependencies within mathematics. The general aim of this particular Unit is to develop skills linked to applications of mathematics. These include using trigonometry, geometry, number processes and statistics within real-life contexts. You will cover the use of mathematical operational skills linked to applications and learn to use the mathematical reasoning skills involved in trigonometry, geometry, number processes and This unit forms part of the National 5 Mathematics course but can also be studied as a stand alone unit. Entry requirements
You will require completion of a National 4 Mathematics course, relevant component units or an equivalent course. Units 1 & 2 require to be completed prior to booking on to Unit 3.
