Higher Mathematics Unit 1: Expressions and Functions

Course description

The general aim of this Unit is to develop knowledge and skills that involve the manipulation of expressions, the use of vectors and the study of mathematical functions. The Outcomes cover aspects of algebra, geometry and trigonometry, and also skills in mathematical reasoning and modelling Use of mathematical operational skills linked to expressions and functions &  use mathematical reasoning skills linked to expressions and functions. This Unit forms part of the Higher Mathematics course but can be studied as a stand alone Unit. The Higher Mathematics course enables learners to develop skills in selecting and applying mathematical techniques in a variety of mathematical situations. These skills will enable progression to further learning and to employment. Learners will experience in-depth study of the ways in which mathematics describes our world, and become skilled in interpreting, analysing, communicating and managing information in mathematical form. This course requires you to manage your workload independently with tutor support which would be available via email and telephone, you would be assigned contact details and guidelines for your tutor once enrolled on course.
