Course description

This short course offers an excellent overview of the relationship between the menopause and mental health.

For around 20% of women there can be severe physical and psychological symptoms arising from the hormonal changes associated with the menopause.

Night sweats and mood swings and aches and pains are some of the common ones, but there are often complex issues that require medical intervention.

What you will experience

The course is broken down into 2 bite-sized units with the following titles:

• Introduction to the Menopause
• Treatment and Control

You will cover

• Common symptoms and guidance on how to respond to them
• Steps to take to adapt to changes in the mind and body brought on by the menopause
• The links between mental health and the menopause
• The basic changes brought on by perimenopause and menopause
• The treatments available for women going through the menopause
• Understand the risk factors associated with Hormone Replacement Therapy ” HRT”

The online materials include quizzes and exercises to help reinforce learning. There is also an online assessment to test students’ understanding of the topic on completion of the course.
