Course description

This course provides the knowledge and skills you’ll need to prepare for further study in the creative media industry.

This creative Media course is primarily a practical course and will prepare you to move onto more advanced levels of study.

In the next few years, it is expected that job creation in the Creative Industries will be greater than in the general labour market. Companies across all business sectors are looking to fully maximise the potential presented by the fast paced, dynamic and constantly evolving digital world.

What you will experience

You will be introduced to a range of audio, video and visual digital skills and learn using Industry-standard software and equipment.

This highly practical course will introduce you to techniques and working practices in the following areas:

  • Audio – short radio feature/podcast on a subject of your choice
  • Video – learn video editing techniques
  • Visual – a website to showcase your creativity: images/design and including audio and video projects
  • You will also learn vital research skills along with interview and presenting techniques.

    Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)

    This course is a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) programme. This means that you are required to have access to your own laptop computer, netbook or similar device in class each day that you are in college.
