Course description

This course explains in detail the links between physical and mental health.

Learn how to apply useful tips to establish every day routines to improve both the mind and the body.

Understanding the specifics about how the body and mind work with one another -or against one another – can be a great motivator for making healthy choices and improving resilience and wellbeing.

What you will experience

The course is broken down in to 4 bite-sized units with the following titles:

• Self-assessment
• Taking Care of Your Mental Health
• Making the Link
• Mental Health First Response

On completion of this course you will be able to:

• Explain the importance of movement and regular physical activity
• Outline a personal plan for improving mental health and resilience through physical activity
• Apply useful tips and advice on how to incorporate changes to daily routines
• Apply the basic principles of mental health first aid when supporting someone in crisis

The online materials include quizzes and exercises to help reinforce learning. There is also an online assessment to test students’ understanding of the topic on completion of the course.
