Course description

This course explores the meaning and importance of equality and diversity, and how the Equality Act 2010 works to promote these concepts, particularly in the workplace.

This course is intended for learners who want to explore the meaning and importance of equality and diversity and to find out how the Equality Act 2010 works to promote these concepts. You will be introduced to the nine ‘protected characteristics’ covered by the Act and examine its impact on the laws which were in place previously.

The course also looks at how employees and employers can apply good practice in order to prevent discrimination, stereotyping, prejudice and harassment from arising in the workplace.

What you will experience

The online materials include quizzes, activities and checklists to help reinforce learning as students work through each topic. In addition, learners will be asked to take an online assessment to check their knowledge on completion of the course.
