Course description

Level 1 (Broadly comparable to SCQF Level 4)

This course will prepare you for progression onto the SVQ in Performing Engineering Operations at SCQF Level 5 or employment in the engineering or manufacturing sector as an operative or apprentice or Modern Apprentice.

What you will experience

You will work mainly in an engineering workshop. Here you will learn to about working safely and effectively whilst making products from a drawing. The products will be made using a range of hand and power tool on an engineering bench and lathe.

What you will need

You will be required to wear a boiler suit, steel toecap boots or shoes and safety glasses.
