Course description

The course is for candidates that are looking to gain experience and qualifications for the Energy Industry.

Please note that this course will not run in session 2023-24. You may be interested in our Wind Turbine Technician Pathway course as an alternative.

The two-year Energy Transfer Technician Scholarship will create a pipeline of young talent with the knowledge and technical skills required. Learners will get a grounding in core engineering knowledge and skills as well as an understanding of the new technologies essential to the successful delivery of net zero, and a foundation in the new in-demand digital skills.

What you will experience
  • Skills and knowledge training for five days a week over two academic years.
  • ECITB Digital Passport.
  • ECITB Level 3 Diploma in two disciplines.
  • HNC in Engineering.
  • RQF level 3 (SCQF Level 6) ILM qualification.
  • Introduction to Net Zero.
  • Creative thinking.
  • ECITB Small Bore Tubing or Mechanical Joint Integrity training.
  • A Health and Safety Passport (CCNSG) and Behavioural Based Safety training.
  • Interaction with ECI employers.
  • £100 a week learner allowance during term time.
  • What you will need

    Scientific calculator, pens, ruler, note pad, safety footwear and safety glasses.

    This is a SQA NextGen course.

    NextGen is a new approach to Higher National qualifications introduced by the SQA and designed to be adaptable and flexible to respond to the needs of the employment market.

    Successful completion of one of the following:

    • Higher Maths at Grade A or B (not Application of Mathematics)
    • Engineering Bridger (NC to HNC)
    • NC SCQF Level 6 in Engineering with Technician Mathematics 2

    National 5 Applications of Maths is not accepted for this course.
