For those in desperate need of basic cooking skills.

Do you panic at the thought of being asked to cook for family and friends? Is poaching an egg far beyond you, and are you clueless when it comes to which spices and herbs to use? If the answer is yes to any of these questions, then we can help! This ‘back to basics’ course will give you the confidence you need to start cooking basic dishes well.

What you will experience

During the 8 weeks, you will cover topics such as:

  • Food hygiene and safe storage guidelines
  • Knife skills
  • Vegetable preparation
  • Cooking with eggs
  • Cooking with meats
  • Basic fish preparation and cookery
  • Use of spices and herbs
  • What you will need

    Students are expected to provide their own apron.

    All core ingredients are provided by the College and included in the course fee.
