Course description

This course is designed for those who wish to learn how to repair and refinish accident damaged vehicles.

This entry level course is aimed at those who wish to pursue a career in the repair and refinish of motor vehicles. Students are introduced to bodywork and paintwork principles and techniques.

What you will experience
  • Gain experience using the latest equipment in body repair and refinishing in modern, high tech workshops
  • Work in small groups on a range of vehicles doing real repairs
  • Learn all about the range of techniques used in repair of accident damaged vehicles – body repairs; panel replacements; preparation and application of paints & finishes; welding and bonding
  • Learn about new developments in the motor industry such as use of sensor technologies and their importance in body repair
  • What you will need

    Boiler suit, safety boots, safety glasses; paper, pens, pencils, calculator. A list will be sent to you before the start of the course.

    Learning outcome

    Diploma in Automotive Accident Repair & Principles (Body & Paint Multiskilled).

    National 4, Intermediate 1 or Standard grade Foundation/General in Maths, English and a technical subject.

    Please note applicants must be 16 or over by the start of the course.
