Course description

Develop your confidence with a view to working in one of the most vibrant areas of the creative industries; the performing arts.

This advanced level course will allow you to develop your skills with a view to working in one of the most vibrant and competitive areas of the creative industries: the performing arts. Participants on this course take part in productions; develop skills in movement, acting, voice, technical theatre and devising.

We work in closely with a range of industry partners and our students benefit from a range of opportunities such as visits from guest practitioners, theatre trips, specialist training and the chance to get involved with our live productions.

What you will experience
  • This course will provide opportunities for you to develop advanced skills in the key areas of Voice, Movement, Production and Acting
  • Develop technical theatre knowledge
  • Leadership skills, co-operative team working skills Contemporary theatre practices.

    Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)

    This course is a Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) programme. This means that you are required to have access to your own laptop computer, netbook or similar device in class each day that you are in college.

    Entry requirements

    • A minimum of 2 course passes at Higher level or equivalent
    • All applicants are required to attend an audition.
    • Alternatively, applicants may have completed an appropriate non-advanced course at level 6 demonstrating an aptitude for the subject area
    • For those returning to education, life skills and experience may allow entry
    • Advanced entry directly to year 2 is possible for those who have completed 15 credits from HNC Acting & Performance
