Course description

The course is designed to ensure that those responsible for the maintenance and/ or practical inspection and testing of the electrical equipment are familiar with the IET Code of Practice for In-Service Inspection and Testing of Electrical Equipment. Course Content 2377-77 The course will cover: • Electrical safety regulations; • Roles and responsibilities; • Insulation and earthing; • Classification of appliances; • Test precautions; • Appliance testing using a portable tester and; • Labelling reporting and recording results. Candidates are required to complete a ninety minute open book multiple choice online assessment to achieve the qualification as well as an in-class practical assessment. The exam will be offered to candidates on the second day at 6pm however candidates can book another date to suit their needs, details of this will be made available to you on the course. 2377-32 Management Requirements for the Maintenance of Electrical Equipment Candidates will be given the necessary skills to complete the 2377-32 examination during the delivery of the 2377-77 qualification. This extra unit gives those with responsibilities for the maintenance of electrical equipment an understanding of the practical application of their safety obligations. An additional fee of £60 is charged to those wishing to sit the additional qualification examination.
