Entry requirements

Academic requirements UK honours degree 2:1 (or equivalent) in a discipline related to physiotherapy that contained a substantial element of human physiology within its programme of study. Experience of the process of research is essential. A diploma or degree in physiotherapy is not appropriate. Additional requirements Before applying to the course, it is recommended that you are aware of the diverse nature of physiotherapy practice. Relevant visits to hospitals, voluntary work or part-time employment in an area where the impact of disability is experienced is desirable. Selection will be based on your educational qualifications, academic references, medical fitness and interview performance. Students must be able to undertake the role of physiotherapists from a fitness point of view. If applicants have queries in relation to this aspect they should contact a member of the admissions team to discuss their individual requirements. On commencing the course all students will have to undertake occupational health screening. As a physiotherapist criminal records are not deemed as spent under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) (Exceptions) Order 1975. If you have a criminal conviction, we ask you to contact a member of the admissions team to discuss the impact on your suitability for eligibility to apply for registration with the regulatory body and employability. All students have to undertake a PVG check on commencing the course. The cost of this process has to be met by the student. If you would like to discuss this please contact a member of the admissions team. The application deadline date is 31 March 2023 for all fee payer types for January 2024 applications. Limited RUK places Due to funding constraints, we have a very limited number of places available on this course for students from England, Wales and Northern Ireland (fee status RUK). These places fill up very quickly and we’re unable to process applications more than 12 months in advance. All entry requirements listed here should be used as a guide and represent the minimum required to be considered for entry. Applicants who are made a conditional offer of a place may be asked to achieve more than is stated. English language requirements IELTS score of 7.0 (or equivalent) with no element below 6.5.
