Course description
Registered Nurses work in partnership with individuals and families to improve autonomy, promote health and support inclusion of people with learning disabilities.
You will explore key themes within contemporary learning disability practice including meeting health needs, community engagement, person-centred planning, inclusion and integration, and addressing health inequalities.
This programme focuses on meeting the holistic needs of people with learning disabilities. You will undertake a variety of practice learning experiences within a variety of health and social care settings.
Upon graduation you will be eligible to register with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).

Entry requirements
Scottish HNC minimum entry requirements: Pass
HNC in Healthcare Practice with Essential Skills for Care Practice Any Science or Health based HNC’s with Graded unit A. If the HNC does not include SCQF level 5 Numeracy, then Nat 5 C in Maths or equivalent is required. No advanced entry with HNC
Scottish Higher minimum entry requirements: B,B,B,C
Must include Higher English or Essay based subject plus Nat 5 Maths or Application of Maths and one science subject at C or above
