Course description
This NQ Medical Administration course provides you the knowledge and skills required to work in a medical administrative role within the NHS, as well as in a modern office environment. There is a current shortage of Medical Administrators within the NHS and there are employment opportunities for those with the correct qualifications.
This course is also ideal to prepare you for further study on HNC Administration and IT with PDA in Medical Administration, starting in August at Glasgow Clyde College, which provides further skills and knowledge for promoted posts within hospitals.
During the NQ Medical Administration course you will study:
- Audio: Medical (Level 5)
- Word processing: Medical (Level 5)
- IT for administrators
- Medical terminology
- Developing skills for employment
- Health and wellbeing
- Communications
- Introduction to basic First Aid
Entry requirements
- Three National 5s at C or above, one of which should be English, or equivalent
- Relevant life and/or work experience will be considered
- Please detail any IT skills or qualifications in the application form
- ESOL entry requirements - applicants whose first language is not English should have a minimum of ESOL National 5, or equivalent
If you do not meet the entry criteria for your chosen course, you may be offered an alternative course in the same subject area.
