Course description
Course Information CompEx 01-04 provides candidates with the relevant training and practical assessments on the installation, maintenance and inspection of electrical and instrumental systems in a flammable gas, vapour or mist environment. Our training facilities are unique and custom built to include a realistic working environment and simulated hazardous areas. The 5 day course is split into separate theory and practical elements and candidates will be assessed in each followed by a multiple choice question paper. Successful completion of this course will result in an industry wide recognised certificate of competency validation. From 1 April 2019, Compex have introduced the CompEx ID card as mandatory, the cost of this is £25 and is included in our price of £995pp. All candidates must report to our Falkirk Campus reception at 8.30am on the first day of training. Candidates are required to bring the following to the course: Proof of electrical/instrument qualification i.a.w JTL925 which should be original copies of the following: SJIB/JIB Card NVQ/SVQ Level 3 (Electrical) qualifications Recognised Apprenticeship Certificate Completed Company Letter signed by TA If unable to provide any of the above documents, please complete a company letter before attending. Photographic ID which should be either of the following: SJIB/JIB Card Passport Driver’s Licence Note of your National Insurance Number P.P.E Minimum: Overalls & Safety footwear. Course Content Theory (3 days) General principles of hazardous areas Standards, directives, certification and marking Equipment types Ex d, Ex e, Ex n and Ex p Other equipment types Intrinsic safety Wiring Systems Inspection and maintenance to IEC 60079-17 Practical (2 days) Ex01: Preparation and installation of Ex d, e and n systems Ex02: Inspection and maintenance of Ex d, e and n systems Ex03: Preparation and installation of Ex i systems Ex04: Inspection and maintenance of Ex i systems Multi Choice Exam Online Multiple Choice Underpinning Knowledge Exam Certificate Issued: CompEx Certificate of Core Competence and ID Card
