Course description

The course has been designed for individuals who are working within a Children and Young People setting and will provide evidence of an individual's competency in supporting children in all aspects of daily life. The Social Services (Children and Young People) at SCQF level 6 is designed for people who are already working, in a range of environments including day or home care settings, family support, nursery or education settings. Candidates are required to compile a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate understanding of theory, principles and practices.

The SVQ will allow you to build upon your existing skills and knowledge to enhance practice in a range of settings. The course will provide individuals with the skills, knowledge and experience to develop a career within this sector and register with SSSC at Support Worker level.

The College has a requirement to complete a residency check on all non-UK nationals for tuition fee purposes. When you book and pay for your course online, please be aware that you will be contacted by a member of our Student Administration team and asked to provide documents i.e. a copy of your passport; proof of your settlement status and EU share code.

Following assessment of evidence, if you do not meet the criteria for ‘home fee status’, you will contacted and advised of any additional fee required.
