Course description
Successful completion of the course will enable you to seek employment and register with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) at support worker level, for working in early learning and care settings. This course is designed for those who are currently employed in a childcare setting. It will provide the theoretical knowledge and practical skills you require to work as a childcare support worker. This is a vocational qualification and you will be assessed by a portfolio of evidence measured against national standards of competency. Entry requirements
One of the following: •You must be currently employed as a Support Worker in an early learning and childcare setting and have the support of your manager •Four National 5 qualifications including English at C or above PLUS •You will also require a PVG check through Disclosure Scotland in order to go out on the placement(s) as part of this course
