Course description
The Access to Sports Therapy course offers learners an insight to our HNC Soft Tissue Therapy and HND Sports Therapy courses. It can be the first step for those interested in pursuing a further career in Sports Therapy, Physiotherapy or Sports Rehabilitation.
What you will learn
The course introduces you to topics such as
- Body Massage
- Anatomy
- Sports Injuries
- Principles of Fitness
You will be expected to work closely with your peers in both practical and theory-based units
Learning outcome
If successfulon this course, a student may be invited to step up to HN level and beyond:-
- HNC Soft Tissue Therapy
- HND Sports Therapy
- B.Sc (Hons) Sports Rehabilitation
While there is no direct qualification for employment from this course, it could be used in addition to a fitness qualification to raise skill level or as a platform to go further in therapy and gain employment in this area
Entry requirements
- 3 National 5 at C or above, preferably to include English and/or a science
- Core skills at level 5
