Course description
Sport and Fitness Activity Leadership is a stepping stone towards a rewarding career in sports coaching or the leisure industry by introducing you to practical skills and knowledge in a range of coaching and fitness techniques. You will study a variety of topics, develop your practical skills and discover your fitness/coaching potential as you take part in a coaching placement. This placement will take place once a week in local primary schools and will give you valuable practical experience in the industry as well as strengthen your employability skills. To succeed on this course, you will need to have a good level of communication, an active interest in exercise, fitness and working with children and be physically fit.

Entry requirements
- Three passes at National 4 in relevant subject areas, English and/or a science subject would be advantageous but not essential
- Appropriate experience would be helpful either from placements undertaken at school or other involvement in the industry
- If you do not have the formal requirements but you are a mature student, wanting to change career or have taken a career break to raise a family you are welcome to apply
- In these or other cases we would consider work experience, life skills and potential ability
