Course description
The Level 2 Certificate in Equality and Diversity comprises three units, presented in two module workbooks: Module A: Equality and diversity in society Module B: Equality and diversity in the community Equality and diversity in the workplace
The changing and diverse nature of our communities poses many challenges for individuals, groups and employers throughout the UK. In order to allow the social inclusion of all people in society, there is a need to bring equality, diversity and rights issues into the mainstream so that they are no longer viewed as something only affecting minority groups.
This course aims to give learners an introduction to the issues around stereotyping, prejudice and discrimination. It will also help them to identify the basic rights that all people should enjoy and the shared values people have, whilst examining the responsibility each person and organisation has in ensuring that barriers to participation in society are removed.
Learning outcome
Learners will be able to further their own continuous professional development, which may improve their career prospects, or allow them to progress on to further qualifications such as courses in health and social care or related subjects.
Entry requirements
The programme is designed for learners aged 16 and above, who are working in a range of settings within the public, private or voluntary sectors and who wish to raise their awareness of mental health.
