Course description

The course includes subjects such as: Computer Games Design and Development, Website Design, Graphics and Development, E-sports events, and Develop an E-sports product.  Time will also be spent developing skills in Digital Forensics, Ethical Hacking, Computer Programming and Data Security as well as developing appropriate numeracy and communication skills that are paramount in todays working ICT society. The course is designed by completing National Progression Awards such as Computer Games Development and Web Design amongst others.

This course will enable you to further your learning and knowledge of areas such as Cyber security, Web development, Data science and Programming and provides a good basis to progress onto more advanced HE study or to gain employment as a junior IT trainee.  The programme is aimed at school leavers with the appropriate entry criteria and adult learners who require to reskill or upskill.    The qualification has the potential to prepare you for employment within the computing sector. The underpinning knowledge and understanding gained from the course will be a valuable resource for you to explore this route.

Learning outcome

Career options would be at a trainee or entry-level post in areas such as Website Development, Data analyst, Help Desk Technician & Support Technician.

Provides the entry requirements to HNC Cyber Security or entry into the Batchelor of Engineering Cyber Security degree (in partnership with UWS).

  • 5 National 5 awards or equivalent 
  • Successful completion of the Intermediate Certificate in Computing with E-sports (NCMP) course and a satisfactory internal reference.  
 Entry may be possible for mature students depending on their prior knowledge and experience.  Applicants may be invited to attend an Information and Interview Session prior to being offered a place on the course.
