Course description
This course is aimed primarily at adult returners but may also appeal to students who wish to explore introductory units in social sciences and in social care.
It is designed to provide a general introduction to social studies at a level that will appeal to learners still to gain key skills in further education.
Subjects covered include:

Career opportunities for social scientists exist in Law and Legal Services, also in the Police, Youth Work, the Penal System and Criminal Justice. Market research continues to show that employers, in both the public and private sector, accept the relevance of the Social Sciences. Social care sectors recognise the value of qualifications in a wide range of sectors.
Continuing Study
Successful students can apply for NC Social Sciences Level 6 and various courses in Social Care.
Entry requirements
- National 4 English or National 5 ESOL at Grade C or above AND three National 4 qualifications; OR
- Other equivalent qualifications or experience.
