Course description

City of Glasgow College is an approved Highfield Learning Centre. The Qualify at Home package lets you study anywhere and, at a time that suits you. The package includes e-Learning, e-Assessment & a Remotely Invigilated Exam.

To gain the regulated Highfield Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace Level 2 qualification you will be required to sit a remotely invigilated exam.

This course is ideal for those who work in a catering environment. This may include restaurants, cafes, hotels, bars, fast-food outlets, takeaways, mobile food trucks, kitchens, hospitals, schools and colleges. For example:

• kitchen staff, who need to know how to prepare food safely.



• food servers,who need to know how to serve food safely.

This course can be offered on a bespoke basis (minimum group size - 5) plus revision sessions - please contact us for further information.

You'll study:

• Food safety procedures & complying with the law.



• Microbiological, chemical, physical hazards.



• Temperature control & stock rotation.



• Cleanliness & safe waste disposal.
