Course description
This qualification is a single unit from the SVQ Level 3 Social Services & Healthcare qualification and should take approximately 8 weeks to complete. This unit carries 8 SCQF credits at SCQF Level 6. COURSE CONTENT: This unit covers the administration of medication to individuals monitoring the effects. This role is complex and will not be the role of all care staff, only those designated to undertake this activity according to their expertise and employers decisions. The unit applies to all medication used for and by individual, both prescribed and non-prescribed. This includes immunisation & vaccination. The unit is intended to be used in a variety of care settings including hospitals, nursing & residential homes, hospices & community settings including individuals home and GP surgeries. This unit does not cover the administration of intravenous medications. To undertake this unit your job must include the administration of medication. ATTENDANCE: This is a work based qualification. Assessors will visit your place of work every 2-3 weeks for the duration of the qualification. Out with visits you will be set work and the Assessor will be contactable via email and telephone. DURATION: 8 weeks (approx) CERTIFICATION: SVQ Level 3 unit certificate COST: £175 PLUS VAT (£210)
