The course agenda includes: Course introduction and induction Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 – approved code of practice Operator Safety Code Pre-use inspections Defect reporting procedures Lift Truck stability – Engineering principles and weight assessment Driving within simulated working conditions Manoeuvring skills Rated capacity / Load centre Hydraulic system and use of the controls Stacking / de-stacking – load handling skills Vehicle loading and offloading Refuelling and Recharging procedures including battery handling and housing Associated Knowledge, Pre-use Inspection and Practical examinations
Entry requirements
Refresher Operator for personnel who are currently formally trained and have RTITB certification or equivalent to operate forklift trucks up to 5000kg and who wish to refresh and reaffirm their driving skills. Course Duration: 1 day (8:30am to 4:30pm) RTITB Certification: This then enables the candidate to operate any forklift truck up to a 5000kgs lifting capacity (with authorisation) both the eID card and eCertificate are valid throughout the UK and will be recognised by both employment agencies and perspective employers. The candidate’s name and details are kept on a National Operators Registration Scheme database (NORS) for 3 years. (Cost: £16.50 +VAT paid by candidate)
