EMERGENCY FIRST AID AT WORK AND MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS This course is aimed at individuals wishing to up-skill to enhance their CV to apply for work. This certificated course will add to your skill-set and professional development. First Aid and Mental Health Awareness are great qualifications to have in general and to set you apart from other applicants to secure work. Both qualifications go hand in hand, enabling learners to respond to key emergencies which is the key similarity between both qualifications, training in both First Aid and Mental Health Awareness issues which may lead to harm. Mental Health Awareness follows similar principles to physical / traditional first aid and is seen as a complimentary addition to the Emergency First Aid qualification. This Mental Health qualification will be delivered by e-learning with full ongoing tutor support and will be certificated/accredited by Highfield Awarding Body. Mental Health Awareness courses ensures learners are trained and can take a uniquely practical approach in being able to spot the signs and respond to the mental and physical health needs of a person experiencing a mental health issue. The REHIS Emergency First Aid qualification has been designed to allow candidates to obtain and then demonstrate the knowledge and skills required to be able to administer first aid to adults and covers the following learning outcomes: 1. Understand the role and responsibilities of a first aider 2. Be able to assess an incident 3. Be able to provide first aid to an unresponsive casualty 4. Be able to provide first aid to a casualty who is choking 5. Be able to provide first aid to a casualty with external bleeding 6. Know how to provide first aid to a casualty who is in shock 7. Know how to provide first aid to a casualty with minor injuries in addition to the theory work the course includes practical work and assessment. The practical demonstrations are as follows: • Scene Survey and Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation • Recovery Position • Choking • Bleeding. This qualification is delivered as in-person, classroom training.
