Course description

This qualification is aimed at individuals wishing to up-skill to enhance their CV to apply for work. This qualification is beneficial to your skill-set and professional development. This qualification has been designed to allow candidates to obtain and then demonstrate the knowledge and skills required to be able to administer first aid to adults in the workplace. Completion of this course leads to a certificate in Emergency First Aid which is valid for 3 years. At the end of the course learners will have an understanding of: Roles & responsibilities Assessing an incident Managing an unresponsive casualty CPR & defibrillation Recovery position Choking Seizures Shock Wounds & bleeding Minor injuries By the end of the course, learners will be able to: Recognise and appropriately treat most emergency situations Give emergency first aid to an injured person until medical assistance arrives Carry out the duties of an appointed person as specified within the first aid regulations
