Course description
This course has a combination of Qualsafe’s L3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (RQF) and L3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid (RQF) courses. The combined course is recommended for people who wish to have an adequate understanding and knowledge of first aid provision for both adults and children. It would be especially beneficial to those seeking employment or working in a Health & Social Care environment such as community care, care, childcare, residential settings. COURSE CONTENT: The course has a mix of theory and practical elements which cover the following: • CPR and safe use of an AED • Child CPR and safe use of an AED • Infant CPR and safe use of an AED • Unconscious casualty • Choking casualty (EFAW/EPFA) • Wounds, bleeding and shock (EFAW/EPFA) There is a multiple-choice assessment at the end of the course, the candidate will be allotted 15 minutes to complete and must gain a pass mark of 7/10. QUALIFICATION GAINED: Other Awarding Body (Qualsafe Awards) SCQF LEVEL (IF KNOWN): N/A ATTENDANCE: : Part Time Day - Flexible start dates. Entry requirements
Learners must be at least 14 years old on the first day of the training and be able to perform practical tasks at floor level. There are no other formal entry requirements, but we strongly recommend that Learners have a minimum of SCQF L5 in literacy and numeracy or equivalent.
