Course description
The Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) card will allow holders the opportunity to gain access to construction sites throughout the UK. This training is aimed at qualified candidates with a trade / existing qualification that require their HS&E test in order to apply for their CSCS card to return or sustain work. Study materials are included as part of this course as well as access to a qualified H&S tutor for supported study where required. Two attempts at the CITB Health, Safety and Environment test are also included in this package as well as the relevant CSCS Card. Candidates will be booked onto the first suitable available test at their nearest Pearson Vue test centre when they are ready. Manager and professional as well as specialist tests can be scheduled subject to the candidate producing evidence of holding current relevant qualifications to meet the entry requirements for each test/card. Manager and Professional – tests for everything in the operative test, plus additional material relevant to managers and professionals. This test is required when applying for the Black Managers card and the Academically or Professionally Qualified person cards. Specialist – tests for everything in the operative test, plus additional material relating to a specialist area such as supervision or working at heights. Specialist tests are required when applying for the Gold Supervisor card, as well as Blue Skilled Worker and Gold Advanced Craft cards in certain occupations.
Entry requirements
Blue Skilled worker card: Achieved a construction related NVQ or SVQ level 2 or completed an apprenticeship, such as an Employer sponsored apprenticeship, a City and Guilds of London Institute Craft Certificate or a CSCS Approved Trailblazer Black Manager card: This card is available for manager and technical occupations subject to: Achievement of a relevant Construction Management/Technical related NVQ/SVQ level 5, 6 or 7 A SVQ Level 4 in Construction Management/Technical related qualification or Holding a pre-existing NVQ level 4 in construction management. Gold Supervisory: This card is available for supervisor and technical occupations subject to the achievement of: Construction Related Supervisory/Technical NVQ or SVQ Level 3 or 4 Occupational Work Supervision NVQ or SVQ Level 3 (including proof of endorsed occupation). Gold Advanced Craft: This card is available if you have either: Achieved a Construction Related NVQ or SVQ level 3 Completed an approved indentured apprenticeship (e.g.with NJCBI, BATJIC etc.) Completed an employer sponsored apprenticeship which included the achievement of a City and Guilds of London Institute Advanced Craft Certificate. Platinum Professionally Qualified Person: Applicants will need to supply proof that they hold current membership of the professional body at a level accepted by CSCS, by providing one of the following (please note that membership is required to be renewed annually and the below evidence must confirm membership for the current calendar year and the level of membership held): A membership certificate (which shows membership for the current calendar year) A membership card (both sides, confirming membership for the current calendar year) An up-to-date letter or email from the professional body confirming membership for the current calendar year A receipt of payment for membership for the current calendar year Platinum Academically Qualified Person: To apply for the card, applicants will need to supply a copy of their qualification and where possible evidence of the units achieved within the qualification.
