Course description
The Business and Administration SVQ at SCQF Level 6 is suitable for those who may be relatively new to an administration role but is also suitable for an experienced administrator. Job roles at this level should involve responsibility and autonomy for a broad range of administrative activities. This qualification takes 9-12 months to complete. This Scottish Vocational Qualification (SVQ) is awarded by SQA and consists of mandatory units and optional units. The range of optional units to choose from, enables the qualification to be tailored to meet both business requirements and the employees specific areas of development. In order to comply with the vocational requirements of this qualification the candidate will need to write reflective accounts and statements to show their assessor how they met the SVQ unit requirements. The candidate will also gather evidence by direct observation, discussion and questions in their workplace setting. Each must be validated by both the candidate and their line manager prior to submission to their assessor as evidence. SQA qualification - 8 units. 3 mandatory units: Plan how to manage and improve your own performance in a business environment Review and maintain your work in a business environment Communicate in a business environment There will also be another 5 optional units to make up the full award. These are based on work practices, some examples are Plan and organise meetings, Provide reception services, Use office equipment, Meet and welcome visitors, Design and produce documents in a business environment Distance learning Vocational You can commence this course at any point within the academic year, we deliver using an e-portfolio system and you will be supported by a qualified and experienced assessor who will help you progress and complete this SCQF L6 qualification.

This qualification is designed for those employees in a business or administration role who are looking to develop their skills and progress within their occupation. Candidates must be able to generate work-based evidence in relation to business and administration. This qualification enables those candidates to upskill and focus on their personal development and gain a nationally recognised qualification to progress their career.
