ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: There are no formal entry requirements however the candidate should have a level of English equivalent to SCQF Level 5 in order to undertake the assessment. REHIS (Royal Environmental Health Institute for Scotland) Elementary Health & Safety course is an ideal progression for those who have already undertaken a CITB HS&E touch screen test and who wish to progress to apply for a CSCS Operative’s card. The course is designed for those who wish to work in construction, entering the workplace with little or no understanding of Health & Safety. .At the end of the course you will complete an assessment which comprises of 30 Multi choice questions. COURSE CONTENT: The Syllabus covers: • A general introduction to Health & Safety • Accidents & Ill Health • Slips and Trips • An Introduction to Health & Safety Law • Risk Assessment • Hazardous Substances • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) • Workplace Health, Safety and Welfare • Vehicles at Work • Fire • First Aid • Plant, Machinery and Equipment • Electricity at Work • Occupational Health • Manual Handling • Working at Heights QUALIFICATION GAINED: REHIS Elementary Health & Safety SCQF LEVEL: 5 (1 credit) ATTENDANCE: Short Duration – please contact provider for dates and venues.
