Course description
The general aims of this Award is to give individuals the opportunity of gaining a Scottish qualification which recognises their contribution to volunteering and the learning they gain as a result of being involved in activities additional to their formal learning. Through volunteering candidates will learn and develop important, transferable workskills, which will help them secure paid employment. The Award is suitable for candidates who have no previous experience of volunteering as well as those who already have some volunteering experience and for learners who are volunteers as well as those who are preparing to be volunteers. Candidates will gather evidence towards the three mandatory units: Preparing to Volunteer, Volunteering Experience and Volunteering: Investigative Project This Award will be completed remotely with online assessments and submission of evidence and the assessor will visit the candidate in their volunteering placement to carry out an observation. Full tutor support will be provided throughout the course by email, telephone and Zoom/MS Teams meetings.
Entry requirements
Applicants should be already working in, or be preparing to work in a volunteering role and looking to gain paid employment from experience gained.
