Course description
ICDL Essentials (previously known as ECDL Essentials) is an internationally recognised qualification in core IT skills certificated by BCS : The Chartered Institute for IT. The ICDL Essentials course consists of 3 modules : IT Security for Users allows learners to gain an understanding of methods to use a computer in a safe and secure manner, protecting their own data as well as that of others; IT User Fundamentals increases confidence in basic interactions with the computer hardware and software and how to manage document storage; Using the Internet and Email introduces learners to email software to compose and send messages and manage incoming mail. The Internet section of the course introduces the learner to browser software to navigate webpages and to search for information. The course start date is flexible. Learners work at their own pace with support available both in-person and online. At present exams may be undertaken remotely or onsite.
