Course description
This course will help people who are unemployed and wish to add to their current skill set/CV gain a nationally recognised qualification valid for three years. This will allow them to apply for new employment and make them more attractive to future employers. It can also help low paid workers progress within their career path and allow them to develop personally, gain H&S awareness and ensure long term sustainable employment. This qualification will introduce and help the delegate identify and understand the nature of hazards in the workplace. Course Content: An Introduction to Health & Safety Legislation Consequences of Poor H&S to the Business & Employee Accidents & Near Misses H&S Duties The H&S Policy Risk Assessments Workplace Signage The Risk Control Hierarchy Workplace Hazards & Control Measures Manual Handling Slips & Trips Working at Height Workplace Transport COSHH Electricity Fire Noise & Vibration Work Equipment & Work Stations Stress in the Workplace RIDDOR First Aid Assessment Method: This qualification is assessed by the delegate undertaking and passing a H&S Implementation Task along with a multiple choice exam at the end of the training day. Candidates must achieve a score of at least 22 out of 30 to pass this course
