Course description
A 3 day course covering the new April 2021 legislation in relation to Door Supervisors, course includes the compulsory First Aid element of these new regulations. Course Units Emergency First Aid - 6 Hours Principles of Terror Threat Awareness in the Private Security Industry - 2 hours Principles of Using Equipment Relevant to Working as a Door Supervisor in the Private Security Industry - 2 Hours Application of physical intervention skills in the private security industry - 13 Hours Guidance on assessment Emergency First Aid - Ongoing assessment throughout the course Principles of Terror Threat Awareness in the Private Security Industry - Externally set and marked multiple-choice question (MCQ) examination made up of 10 questions (20 minutes). Pass mark = 70% Principles of Using Equipment Relevant to Working as a Door Supervisor in the Private Security Industry - Externally set and marked multiple-choice question (MCQ) examination made up of 5 questions (10 minutes). Pass mark = 70% Practical Exam - externally set and internally assessed observation of using communications devices. Pass mark – 100% (The practical assessment for each learner must be visually recorded and is recommended to take approximately 5 minutes per learner. Application of physical intervention skills in the private security industry **) Externally set and marked multiple-choice question (MCQ) examination made up of 30 questions (45 minutes). Pass mark = 80% Practical Exam - externally set, internally assessed observation of each learner performing every technique with an observation sheet and Q/A session to cover critical areas of PI knowledge. Pass mark = 100% The practical assessment for each learner must be visually recorded and is recommended to take approximately 15 minutes per learner ** The assessor will only pass a learner when all of the techniques have been demonstrated successfully. Each learner should introduce themselves, state the date and the techniques they are demonstrating.
Entry requirements
Must hold a previous Door Supervisor Award dated after 2015.
